Dear Bush Safarist,

It is that time of year again when we invite you to join us for another heart stopping, mind blowing, super exciting outback adventure. Our 19th year of going on Safari will be celebrated with a bush trek to the QLD Fraser coast and back. This trip will take in some of the most breathtaking sights that Queensland has to offer.

The 13 days will cover 3200 kilometres, commencing in Lightning Ridge and traveling north to Nindigully, voted as QLD’s number one outback pub, where we can celebrate the 2009 NRLGrand Final. Next stop, Carnarvon Gorge, staying at the picturesque Takarakka resort campgrounds, where travellers will enjoy a rest day, to make the most of the areas attractions.

From there the Seafari will move to Fairburn Dam, home of the famous “Red Claw”, then onto Capella via Rubyvale. Heading east to the coast the Safari has a stopover at Mt Morgan before arriving at the two real highlights of our trip,1770 and Rainbow Beach/Fraser Island, where Seafarists will have two separate rest days to explore.

We will then head back to Lightning Ridge via the beautiful Bunya National Park, Maidenwell and Boomi.

Of course all your favourite Bush Safari evening entertainment will be on tap with trivia nights, movies in the outback, theme nights – and as always, an unforgettable Talent Quest!

Be sure to pack your camera as you will see some of the most amazing landscapes, historic infrastructure and cultural heritage and you will want to take home all those wonderful memories to make your friends envious!

Our committee of Police, Ambulance, SES and our en-route mechanic are all fired up and looking forward to making you welcome and safe. The 2009 safari departs Lightning Ridge on Sunday 4th October and returns on Friday 16th Oct. The registration fee is $750 per vehicle with an early bird price of $695. As always we take bookings up to registration day Saturday 3rd October however the discount and shirts are only on offer until 1st August 2009.
