  • Owned and operated by Herman and Sandy Kreller.

Herman has been living in Lightning Ridge for 34 years, and spent 24 years underground, digging for opals. With old age finally having caught up with him, he is now financing his mining partnerships in return for a share of the opals. This saves him having to climb underground himself now.

He met his Texan wife Sandy on his way home from the Los Angeles Olympics where he was Armory Marshall at the Shooting.

Sandy has been in Australia for almost 20 years now and is working with Herman to operate their very busy Shop and tourist business.

They also spent 10 years on a USA Television Shopping Channel, selling opal and jewellery on TV. Having spent almost 8 000 hours live on TV, promoting Australia and opals, they have retired from that stressful job due to the lack of supply of opals.

Herman and Sandy will happily answer any questions regarding opal mining, life on the opal fields, or what kind of setting would be suitable for the different types of opals.

They will ship opals, rough opals and jewellery all over the world. A major portion of their sales are the result of repeat business.

Because of their promotional work they have become a well known and recognized feature of the opal industry.

Please ask for email images of any piece of jewellery you may be interested in owning.
