It has been success upon success for Luke Sweatman since he first entered his story in the year 5/6 section of Write Around Australia last year.
Last week Walgett Shire Council Mayor, Peter Waterford, made a presentation to Luke for becoming a regional finalist in this competition.
From regional finalist Luke was announced regional winner which entitled him to $500 worth of books.
Now the young writing wizard from the bush has won further acclaim by becoming zone winner in this prestigious event.
Celebrity status is being bestowed upon Luke and his proud Mum, Leeanne, as they will be chartered to Sydney for the zone presentations.
Chauffeur-driven from Sydney airport they will spend 2 nights at the Sheraton and Luke will receive a further $500 worth of books as part of his prize. Being in the limelight has fired Luke’s enthusiasm to write and he looks forward to reading his growing mountain of books.
Luke’s zone presentation will be made at the State Library, November 20 when the state winner will also be announced.
