HOT SUMMER NIGHTS

Lightning Ridge is set to sizzle with the Bowling Club’s new Hot Summer Nights program of entertainment. The calendar has events planned to entertain the young, the young at heart, families and regular members.

This Thursday 26 September, the Club will launch its latest attraction – MaxiMillion$. The game is the first statewide linked maxgaming machine. It allows punters to compete online with club members at other clubs within NSW. The expected win value of the prize is $60,000.

Over the next two months, the Club will host three promotional nights with plenty of merchandise to giveaway. On Friday, 4 October, “Woodstock 2”, featuring three live Tamworth bands (Spin, Dry Heat and Jarr’d), will kick off the new entertainment program. There are t-shirts, caps and novelty items up for grabs.

Potentially the largest event to take place in the next few months is the “Outback’s Biggest Beach Party”. Partygoers will automatically go in the draw to win tickets to the Midori 7-days, 7-nights Beach Party and accommodation on the Gold Coast in early December. More details will be provided closer to the event.

There is also a Bundy Rum promotion with a bucking bull on at the end of November to ensure there are plenty of opportunities for social get togethers.

Families can also enjoy a real treat on Halloween as the Restaurant hosts a family deal where adults can enjoy a 3-course meal for only $22 per head and children get a main, dessert and drink for $12 each. All children wearing Halloween costumes will also receive a complimentary treat.

The Black Opal Classic Bowls Carnival will take place on 22-25 October and it is a great opportunity to see Australia’s bowling champions in action.

The Club will also host its annual Melbourne Club Luncheon on 5 November. At $14 per head, patrons will enjoy a delicious chicken and salad luncheon with a complimentary glass of champagne. Dress up for the occasion as there will be a ‘fashions in the field’ competition.

For the fine diner or for those who just enjoy a great meal out, the Restaurant will showcase the talents of master chef Mark Julian with a range of themed dining nights in November. Seafood, gourmet bush tucker, fine food and wine tasting are some to the delicacies planned to tantalise your tastebuds.

In Lightning Ridge’s very own bid to expose the latest popstar, the Club will host a Karaoke Talent Quest in late November with $2,000 in prize money. Entry details are available at the Club.

All this will take place in October and November with plenty more planned for the Christmas and New Year’s season.
