The spirit of Anzac has fired brightly throughout a proud nation of Australians in 2002. It is this spirit that has forged our identity worldwide.
As we awoke to a mangificent Anzac Dawn and a flood of memories of forefathers, loved ones and their sacrifices overcame us, an echo broke the silence, "Lest we Forget".
Traditionally Anzac Day at the Ridge was commemorated with the Dawn Service, 11am Parade and Service, Veterans Dinner and Two-Up.
As familiar faces fade we thank God for their lives and the
contribution they have made to our community.
Just 12 months ago a much-loved Ridge identity stood before us all as he had so many times before, to deliver his last Anzac Day Service and bade us all goodbye.
It was with sadness and joy that we would accept the parting of Jack Pick.
Sadness, because we had lost a friend, joy because we had known and enjoyed a gentleman who had moulded his life around others, giving, sharing and sacrificing.
Jack Pick - a true gentleman and a fine friend.
Lest we Forget.
