A community based heritage study is about to be undertaken in Walgett Shire.
Mr Graham Hall has been appointed by Council to undertake this study.
Community consultations will take place in Walgett and Lightning Ridge this week.
These meetings will help to identify historically significant material within the Shire.
Mr Hall will look at the best possible manner in which to identify these sites and implementation of the study.
It is expected that representatives may be made on behalf of the Three Mile Open Cut and the LRMA’s puddling tanks.
