Power to residential claims

Residential campdwellers are continuing to collect the necessary guidelines from the Advocate office, which will facilitate the orderly collation of necessary information that may be required to fortify their case for power in certain "mined out" or areas of density for residential claims. The time frame to compile this information is mid-May.

Significant changes to the management of the Western Division of NSW were announced by Mr John Aquilina, Minister for Land and Water Conservation, at the Western Division Shires' Conference held in Lightning Ridge this week.

The implication of these amendments and whether or not they can be applied to the grant of a WLL as proposed in Stage II of the Residential Claim issue is yet to be clarified.

Many interesting points have been raised with the Advocate including a proposal to fund the purchase from graziers of areas outside the Permissive Occupancy Area.

The Black Opal Advocate is at the heart of this issue and will continue to report its progress.
