6th February 2002 $10,000 Lightning Ridge TV promotion

Tourism should receive a most welcome boost this coming year through an intensive TV publicity campaign being created at present by the Great Goat Race Committee.

Contributors to this important TV campaign so far are the Great Goat Race Committee with $2000, Walgett Shire $2000, the Rodeo Committee $1000, The Opal Cave $1000, Brewarrina Rodeo $500 and the Horse Racing Committee $1000.

The Great Goat Race Committee has also received further pledges towards this campaign from other businesses and organisations in town, and we will be finalising matters in the next two to three weeks.

As the TV campaign will be seen throughout a large section of NSW and Queensland during March, we envisage that the whole community will benefit for all of the coming year.

For the balance of $3000 which we still require, we will NOT be approaching the small business operators of the town, as we appreciate that they are being "hit" all the time, and surely suffer from 'donor fatigue" by now. Conversely, anybody kind enough to "insist" on contributing, please contact Duncan McDonald or Herman.

We are hoping, though, that some of the major organisations and businesses will be able to help out, even though these are difficult times.
