When fierce hailstorms struck the far north coast of NSW the local SES group were called upon to assist the 1,000 affected houses in the area.

Already packed to travel to Nowra the four person team comprising Max Harris, Darryl Clarke, Peter Smits and Danielle Osborne were rescheduled to attend the Natural Disaster at Kingscliff on the Tweed coast.

A total of 300 volunteers were co-opted into the area over a four day period commencing January 20. Ironically, they were made at home when one of the town-house developments they attended was occupied by the Nagy family.

The well-experienced and fully-equipped locals worked with a Hornsby team on a number of multi-storied buildings.

Local training is set to recommence at the SES building in Pandora Street.

If you would like to share the experience, training and comradeship that the SES offers you will be welcomed as a volunteer, Wednesday, February 6 at 7pm.
