Welcome to Walgett Shire

Geoff's Glass where Geoff Chaffey and John Murray are producing the eye-catching signs that welcome tourists to Walgett Shire

Marketing Walgett Shire and welcoming tourists to the area has become the focus of the restructured Walgett Shire Council.

This is being reflected in the wonderfully creative and artistic signs being created by resident artist, John Murray and Geoff Chaffey.

These signs will grace the entrance to each of the towns and villages throughout the Shire. We will see the Long Neck Turtle at Hebel; the Sand Monitor, Collarenebri; Black Cockatoos at Burren Junction; Kianga, Coonamble; and Murray Cod, Brewarrina.

Ex-Ridgeite, Chris Lees, enjoyed viewing and was impressed with the progress of the signs. An exhibition of Chris's work is currently hanging at the South Yarra Libby Edwards' Galleries
