Let's Get it Right' Naidoc Theme Naidoc Week showing has been an opportunity to celebrate the significant headway being made in 'Getting it Right' between indigenous and non indigenous Australians. Described by Principal,Fiona Prentice, as a 'feast of an experience' the festivities on Spider Brown oval showcasing aboriginal culture, was a presentation of the ASPA Committee. Supervised groups mulled around the oval to the vantage points for boomerang throwing,face painting, didgeridoo playing, karaoke and dancing exhibitions. Presentations of short stories by Aunty Rose Fernando and a Picture Dictionary of the , Euahalay language will add to the resources of the School library. This year's theme.'Treaty, Let's get it right' was the focus of the Principal's address with particular emphasis upon respect and being permitted to be ourselves. The creativity of students and teachers was reflected in the class rooms judged by the dance troupe. K one T Infants and 5/6P Primary were announced winners of the competition by Aunty June Barker. A cake cutting ceremony by 'Tiny' Brown preceded the planned afternoon activities |
