LRMA OPAL ADVISORY SERVICE OPENS FOR 2007
The LRMA Opal Advisory Service opens its doors for 2007 this Saturday 3rd February. The Service has been providing miners with guidance on the value of their opal for well over 20 years. Under the Chairmanship of Josef Schellnegger, 2006 saw the LRMA Opal Advisory Service price around 1,500 parcels of opal worth just over three million dollars.
The Advisory Service operates from the Lightning Ridge Hotel Motel and opens its doors at 9am. An independent panel will price up to six stones per person and they ask that you return your feedback cards once the opal is sold so they can compare their guide with the actual sales price. The panel has no knowledge of who owns the opal they are pricing. It is best to get to there early to avoid disappointment as they close up at 11am.
Thank you to the sponsors without whom the LRMA Opal Advisory Service could not operate – Lightning Ridge Hotel Motel, Aurora Gems, Spitfire Opals, Sherman Opals, R&D Brogan and the Valuers Council.
